Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) was founded in 1863 and is the oldest orthopedic hospital in the United States. HSS offers state-of-the-art technology, large patient volume, and doctors and scientists who can swiftly translate scientific breakthroughs into clinical treatments.
HSS requested the redesign of the rear yard space behind one of the hospitals residential buildings. The former outdoor storage unit received new finishes, furnishings, additional lighting, and an installation of a natural gas barbecue. The project was completed in October 2018.
